Trade and Industry (C18th & C19th)

The main industries in Dolny Kubin at this time were agriculture and the breeding of cattle. Also, beer was produced in the town, firstly only in households, but then in the 18th century a brewery was founded in Dolny Kubin. One of the most important means of living was the production of schnapps, a drink made from rye and potatoes.

A part of the population lived from crafts and trade. These were mainly shoemakers, innkeepers, tailors, blacksmiths, bakers and butchers. Fruit production was also successful.

In the 19th century there was a lot of trade in agricultural products, schnapps, textiles, iron and other goods.
