The statue of P.O. Hviezdoslav
The statue of P.O. Hviezdoslav was created by the academical sculpturer
Frano Stefunka and unveiled to public in 1936. On the left side
of this statue lie four stone blocks with a relief decoration and
texts from Hviezdoslav works.
Memorial of Liberation
The Memorial of Liberation has the shape of a slightly opened book
and is situated in the middle of Dolny Kubin square. In the lower
part of the memorial, a date of the liberation of Dolny Kubin, can
be found.
Historical cemetery in Dolny Kubin
At the historical cemetery in Dolny Kubin there are seventeen famous
people buried that have had an important influence on the cultural
life in Slovakia.
The historical importance of the cemetery grew after 1866, when
many important people from Orava, such as Leopold Bruck, Janko Matuska,
Samuel Novak, P.O.Hviezdoslav and others, were buried here.
