Social life in Dolny Kubin

The craftsmen and trademen founded in 1903 the Association of Dolny Kubin craftsmen and trademen. It was supposed to protect the interests of its members and take care of the development of the trade and craft. In Dolny Kubin there were also founded two lottery Associations, which main task was buying the lots. It was the Fortuna and the Hofnung Association.

For a short period of time the Orava Association for education of people was also active in this town, which goal was to support the schools and at the same time to preserve the church autonomy in education.

An important Association in Dolny Kubin was the Mestianska beseda, founded in 1873 and which goal was to spread education, organize entertaining events and develop the cultural life in this town.
