Dolny Kubin has an interesting history, rich in traditions and culture. Also, many important Slovaks, especially in the field of literature, have come from the region, and the town still benefits from this rich pedigree today.

This section begins by looking at the town history and then goes on to talk about the culture in Orava. There is also a section that describes the lives of those famous Slovaks that Dolny Kubin is so proud to call its own.

Those traditions particular to the Orava region are also covered, including traditional food, dance, music, crafts and feast days.
